Melbourne Martial Arts
Through many years of perseverance and dedication to its students, Melbourne Martial Arts has progressively transformed from a modest one-room training facility at the Melbourne City Baths over 15 years ago to a now nationally renowned training dojo in the heart of Melbourne itself.
The backbone of the academy is comprised of many enthusiastic students and more than able staff, however the head of Melbourne Martial Arts is Shihan George Kolovos. With over 35 years experience in martial arts as a student, trainer and promoter, George Kolovos had once envisioned establishing a centre purely focused towards authentic martial arts in which his students are both proud and yet humbled to train in.
Today that centre stands as the Melbourne Martial Arts Academy boasting to its students amongst Australia's best martial arts instructors, traditional and authentic martial arts training and the privilege to train amongst globally recognised fighters. Melbourne Martial Arts recognises the initial courage and ongoing commitment that martial arts demands and are constantly striving to reward members through professional competitions, amateur fight nights, gradings, camps and guest international trainers.
The centre has been established to provide a professional service through time-honored and veritable means so that our dojo is not merely stereotyped as a centre for only fitness, but offers defence sophistication and most uniquely, culture.
