The demand for qualified martial arts coaches in the delivery of professionally structured martial arts training programs is now stronger than ever before. Career path opportunities now exist in an industry that was once considered to be a hobby activity. If you are currently a martial arts coach or are interested in becoming a martial arts coach then getting your nationally recognised qualification is an important step to on-going career success. This training package provides training necessary for attaining the knowledge required to be a nationally recognised martial arts coach. This training program will provide you with the business tools, training methods and techniques ranging from basic to high performance that will guide you in achieving a top rated martial arts business and career. Learn the skills necessary for implementing group and individualised martial arts training programs that are safe, effective and meet the requirements that have been set by government, community and industry associations.

PROGRAM DETAILS

What will the course cover?
This course will cover a range of competencies relevant to the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificates II, III, IV and Diploma. Topics include but are not limited to, martial arts theory and practical, business development, community service education provision, sport and recreation law, legal and ethical responsibilities of a coach, exercise science, coaching principles, risk management, emergency response, advertising and marketing.

Training
At our Academy you have the opportunity of training in Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kyokushin Karate, Boxing, Arnis, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or a selection of these styles. All training will be monitored and attendance at tournaments, seminars and camps is compulsory.
Your training will consist of a combination of face to face physical training and development, philosophical study of your art, theoretical course workbook study, face to face lectures and home training and on-line learning and activities.
 
Prerequisites
This training package has no formal entrance requirements. However basic literacy and numeracy is assumed. Applicants must demonstrate competence at a particular certificate level before progressing to a higher level. (For example the prerequisite for enrolling into certificate III, is demonstrating competence at certificate II.)

Selection Procedures
A free student orientation session comprising a formal interview will be conducted upon receipt of the completed application form.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of prior learning may be available based on skills and knowledge already acquired by the applicant through previous study, martial arts study or equivalent studies of a similar standard at another institution or from various work, industry and life skills.

Austudy Approved
Austudy, Abstudy, pensioner education supplement, work for the dole and Parents returning to work programs are available for Nationally Recognised Training courses.
Government funded positions may be available for eligible applicants. Check with you local job network.

Courses available:
SRS20303 Certificate II in Sport Coaching (Martial Arts)
SRS30303 Certificate III in Sport Coaching (Martial Arts)
Time Frame : approximately 13months. Minimum 8 hours training a week in the martial art of your choice, as well as personal gym training.
Achieve: This course will take you to the level of a Green/Brown belt in karate or  Brown singlet in Thai Boxing– Assistant Instructor level.
Includes: All training fees, all tournament and grading fees for the term of the course & 12 personalised  classes.

SRS40203 Certificate IV in Sport Coaching (Martial Arts)
Time frame: Approximately 11 months. Minimum 8 hours of training a week in the martial art of you choice, as well as personal gym training.
Achieve: This course will take you to the level of a Black Belt in Karate or a Black Singlet in Thai Kickboxing – Instructor level
Includes: All training fees, all tournaments and grading fees for the term of the course, 12 personalised classes and 1 camp

SRS50203 Diploma in Sport Coaching (Martial Arts)
Time Frame: Approximately 17months. This course is only offered to Senior Instructors with 5 years or more of experience.
Achieve: Senior Instructor - qualified to operate multiple schools, organize camps, tournaments etc and Event Management.
Includes: All training fees, all tournaments, grading fees, camps and seminars for the term of the course and 12 personalised classes.
