Shihan
George Kolovos, founder of Melbourne Kyokushin Karate and
Titans Muaythai Kick Boxing, recognizing the need for professional
facilities to produce students of a high level has risen
above the rest of the industry to offer some of the best
training facilities in Australia. Shihan established the
headquarters MMA in the CBD of Melbourne making it easily
accessible to everyone. The centre begins with a reception
and full martial arts supply shop. The shop offers sportswear
and martial arts equipment for wholesale to retail customers.
The centre also boasts a fully equipped gymnasium complete
with cardio equipment, treadmills & steppers, and a
combination of electronic and pin loaded weights, as well
as a full range of free weights. The boxing arena is fully
set up with punching bags, floor to ceiling balls, speed
balls, boxing ring and is also fully matted. Right at the
back of the centre is our fantastic atrium, fully mirrored
and matted training hall catering for more then 30 members
at a time, in summer we fold back the doors and instantly
you're training on the banks of the magnificent Yarra river.
In the next vault we have the male and female changerooms
leading down to our 2nd training hall which can be opened
up into the mainroom to extend the area for larger classes.
We offer
classes in:
* Kyokushin Karate
* Kick Boxing
* MuayThai
* Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
* Boxing
* Arnis
* Fully equipped Gymnasium
Here
at MMA we offered different martial arts classes that compliment
each other so it makes it easier to cross train from one
style to another. With all of the membership packages we
offer you have entry to any or all of the classes as well
as full use of the gymnasium at any time. So with over 40
classes a week from early morning, lunch time, afternoon,
evening and Saturdays there is always a time to suit everybody.

Shihan
Kolovos has designed a complete structure for grading, competing
or simply fitness. He conducts the UMA (United Martial Arts)
Championships 4 times a year at a novice level and also
runs amateur fight nights 4 times a year which allows students
to pad up and fight in the ring, a great way for students
to give a go as they are fully protected. He also promotes
professional events and is the President of the WRKA (World
Ring Karate Australia) promoting Ring Karate and Kick Boxing
events, in addition to this he also promotes the Brute Force
Challenge series of Muaythai boxing events sanctioned by
the WMC (World Muaythai Council).
So the
structure is there for you to progress to an instructors
level through gradings or become one of our best fighters
in Australia through the guidance of Shihan Kolovos
Of course we understand that competing or grading is not
for everyone and lots of our members come to train with
us for FITNESS & FUN.
